Why is her right foot in foul territory?

Her foot is on the line. She's considered in fair territory.

In that case, then why is her right foot "on" the 3b line?

A dad (or grandfather in this case) that is filling in for a coach that is MIA.
My daughter is perfect, she knows everything. Just ask her.

A) move back
B) be creeping towards the batter during the pitch
C) move a crossover step from the line....she is defending foul territory.

She looks very athletic....I think she could get to a bunt very quickly from 45-40 feet in lieu of 30 feet. Defending from 45-50 feet will increase her range.

I don't necessarily disagree with your suggestions. However, we move our corners in (closer than most) to cover a bunt situation. We want to take the bunt away. Also, we guard the line in these situations at third. The idea here is that it's an easier play for the third baseman to make if they are foolish enough to try to bunt. 3rd only has to move to her left to field the bunt - moving towards first. This is a much easier play to make for a 12 year old than fielding on her right (cross over step). Some may say that it is dangerous to play your corners so close. That's why she's wearing her gameface. I'm not one to criticize (sp?) another coach. It's just our way of covering the bunt.

I happened to see the young lady play this weekend and she was very effective in that position. The shot over the center field fence was outstanding as well. All the best to you and your team this season coach. :D
