Photo contest - bat2ball

Have a good action shot? Send it to us.

Lets see who can get the best bat2ball shot in the next month or so. I have seen some good ones, where the bat is crushing the ball in , thats the shot I am going to try for.

Hey, this is my first spring of not coaching in almost 10 years, kids are all in high school, got to keep it fun.

this one is from a 2004 all star tournament, 10u.
it was probably a RIF ball because of how it is warping around the bat:

Deserve's got nothin' to do with it.

That is called 'crushing' the ball. Thats the shot i am going to work on in our h/s games (hopefully we will hit the ball to give me the opportunity for the shot) this week.

I'm in!

Cut off date of April 30th? That gives me 2 tournaments to figure out when to actually press the button.

April 30 sounds good. what kind of camera are you using? Do you have continous shooting as an option?

Donnie, I've got the Nikon D40 with a new 300mm lense. I have burst, but the fps seem slow. Is that the route I should go instead of trying to press at the right time?

Spaz, you may have to umpire with that camera to get your shot. :D

I dont know, I have never got that shot. I have the canon 40d, around 8 fps. But maybe trying to time it might work. I will give timing it a shot - there is a professional photographer thats the catcher's mom, she is the one that advises me on what to buy, I will see how she does it..
