Is that Arizona artificial turf? Great for pitching, no dead spots 40 feet apart.

Yes, that lawn is artificial. It wasn't comfy to sit on, or even put your knee down on.

Hey, but it looks good, you never have to water it and better yet, mow it. Perfect for travel ball families on the go.

You dont have to mow it but you have to vacuum it - monsoon season generates all kinds of nasties that blow in and stick in your yard. My yard in Arizona was just rocks, nothing grew except for a century plant and an ancient saguaro , but there were plenty of interesting creatures, like gila monsters, variety of snakes, and scorpions.

Amy, what age do kids start pitching now? My youngest moved up at 8 to pitch 10u - she had to skip the 8u which coach pitch (8 years ago now).

She is my youngest, so far.

Several come in that are late 7's. But, you are right, if they can pitch, the league moves the 8s up to 10U. After a year in 10U rec, they start looking for a travel team.

Oro Valley, now has 2 10U teams and they move up to 12U, next year. The family in this picture, will probably start a 10U travel team.
