It was fun watching the VT girls after an inning, the body language, and their excitement as they got to the dugout each inning. It seemed like they were saying ' hang tough - lets not let up ' each time they got together.

If you watch the game...watch Jenny Finch,her reaction and her interview....she wasn't PLEASED AT ALL !!!!
Tincher made some of the best hitters in the world look silly !!!!

I saw Virgina Tech play North Carolina State in the ACC Championship Game yesterday. It was interesting how many illegal pitches they called on Tincher. She is doing the same thing Finch does by stepping off the pitching plate during her motion. Both great pitchers but I can't believe they have not corrected this in their mechanics. I heard the umpires are calling this more and will this cause Tincher and Finch some problems in the NCAA and Bejing Olympics?

I thought Abbott was pitching illegal in that game on every pitch. I got the feeling the blues werent calling anything along those lines in that game. Abbott's illegal pitching in relief was worse then Finch's or Tincher's.... by far.

It's amazing how illegal Abbot is, imho.

As per Tincher, when they talked to her coach between innings, he acknowledged she was having issues with it, and that she knew how to fix it. In the middle of a game (or a tournament) probably isn't the best time to work on your mechanics, however. Hopefully she will correct it before the NCAAs start. I'm pretty sure she hasn't had as many problems her entire career as she has lately.

Although......the NCAA has made it a "point of emphasis" this year. I would like to think that Abbot (among others) would have a lot of illegals called if they were still pitching in college this year.

I also saw the ACC Championship Game. Tincher was definitely illegal, as is almost every elite pitcher I watch these days. I guess the NCAA is trying to get control of the issue, which is commendable if just a tad late!

Tincher still had a no-hitter going into the 7th, when she gave up a leadoff double.
