Refunding Tournament Fee

What's on your mind?

by fastpitchrocks99 » Tue Apr 15, 2008 8:25 pm

We recently signed up for a tournament and prior to the brackets being posted ,we were forced to drop due to injuries and HS sports. For what ever reason our check was deposited by the TD several weeks prior to the brackets being posted and despite many emails we have not received a refund.

Are we entitled to a refund? What should my next step be?

Thank you for any suggestions.

It has been my experience that most of the time, the fee can be rolled over to another date you want to compete...have not been on either end of your deal, but I believe that would be met with less resistance than a refund.

It should not be a surprise your check was cashed since there are typically several pre-tournament expenses that need to be paid (balls, field supplies, awards, food and beverage products to sell, field rental fees, etc.)

It is hard to advise without additional information. Is this an independent invitational or an association sponsored/sanctioned event (i.e., ASA, USSSA, Triple Crown, NSA, etc.)?

Franchise tournament businesses like USSSA and Triple Crown typically prefer a fee rollover to a future tournament.

I have decided to reopen this because after several attempts to get a refund I still haven't received one. Does anyone know who runs the Bomber Organization, or who their local JO is?

We dropped from the tournament several weeks before the bracket was posted, but despite several attempts I still have not received a refund.

Please do not tell me to contact Scott Smith - I need another contact to resolve this issue.

To confirm, this is the Texas Bombers org in new braunsfels, texas....

What tournament are you talking about? Was this the Shootout back in March?
