My point beeing why would a great player want to go play for a GOLD team that does not Qualify on a consistant basis. You have a few great players in the young age groups but if you can't keep them. How can your org compete against Firecrackers, Batbusters, athletics, C A, Choppers........

Example your 16u coach has a daughter if he is not the headcoach why would he stay she will end up on one of those teams. He would be hurting that girl to stay in the AA org. (She is a Stud)

How many of your teams are coached by non dads?
you can't count 18a qualifing in state so you had 1....
your 16u team went out of state early and saw nobody oopps MG did they Qualify? 2 and Q at regionals

your 14u team went to TN how did they do at So Cal State?
your 12u team well there is a good amount of local talent in South OC and you guys usually put together good 10u 12u and every know and then 14u team but without a GOOD GOLD team it is just talent that gets filtered out to NON DADDYBALL teams

Example
12u Daddy coach
14u alot of daddy coaches
16u Earnie- Daddy coach
16u ordos- Daddy coach although has a female Asst non mommy coach

Your last yeat 10u team was a couple moms right?

Not trying to bash your ORG but you can't compare your AA to these other proven GOLD winners
That filter down to younger not the other way around.

Who, in the world, thinks that the Firecrackers are comprised of younger FC players.....Batbusters?.....Cruisers? They are comprised with kids from all different organizations....thats what these guys do....they take the best players from a lot of different teams. Duh.

Firecrackers have one pitcher (she's a good player) who is the coaches daughter, the coach also has another daughter playing in one of the older divisions I believe. No idea on the rest of the players or teams mentioned, but they do not seem to build teams but take talent from others. But isn't that the case with a lot of TB teams anyway? The better players flock to these proven organizations because of what the older divisions can do for them - the ultimate goal of getting to college. On th other side, there are a lot of smaller, competitive organizations who give their players the same opportunities.

Clean up
That was my point! Not trying to bash AA but they do not have a competetive older program.
You can't start at the lower div and expect to build up. Teams will pick you apart before they get there. Not saying it is bad it is the way it goes. The rich get richer if FC,BB,Athletics,CC,choppers, CA, etc coming knocking at your door how can you say no if your Gold team can't even Qualify on a regular basis. Thats all not knocking coaches that have DD playing at the lower div but if that is all you have do you really have a top ORG in the country as Randi Jo was trying to make AA out to be.
Just for the record BJ from the FC has coached many teams with and without his DD's playing big difference to compare.

I think there are a lot of reasons why some girls will leave one organization to go to another. We can all kid ourselves but the main reason is college first and winning second. My dd is on the CA ( Marty) and we came in as a soph. straight from 14's. Played the winter and spring exposure tounaments and by July first the race was on, No letters sent out no talking to the college coaches just massive e-mails on sept. 1st and the mailbox full everyday. The teams mention here pit their kids in to their dream schools on full scholarships. I know the CA puts everykid into college on a full ride. Being on a elite team has a lot of benifits, entry into all the right tournaments, the Main fields, playing against the top teams. I think the CA,firecrackers, cruisers, athletics, and batbusters play each other all year round. What college coach wouldn't want to come out and pick a kid from one of these teams. Lastly these coaches work there butt off. I know Marty and Andy put in a lot of personal time into talking to coaches away from the fields. Lastly my dd went into college this year became the no. 1 pitcher, experienced fatige, injury, and dissapointment, but she also helped her team to regionals, made the pac-10 freshman team, led the pac is batters k'd looking, and is no. 4 all-time on the single season k total at her school. She said playing on her CA gold team prepared her for college. The elite teams play the best competition day in and day out all season long. If your dd is on one of these teams she can't help but get better. Bad thing is, if the elite teams are always playing each other that how do the up and coming teams get better. Mayby Andy can shed alittle more light on this.

And they will continue to do so as they snatch up most of the good younger AA's players
when they get to Gold. Think that was Kingskid's first point before he kind of got sidetracked by
AA bashing.

"We can all kid ourselves but the main reason is college first and winning second. "

Not true. We didn't think seriously about a scholarship until DD joined an 18G team. My kid has played for a number of different teams. With one exception, she left teams for a variety of reasons that had little to do with college or winning. I suspect we're not alone. I suppose the proof would be that she has never come close to getting to Nationals. The exception was when she left AA 18G to go to one of the big teams being mentioned. She did that at the request of her soon to be college coach who told her she would like DD to face the best pitchers possible as often as possible.

My DD played 2 years with AA 18G. She loved it. She and my wife cried on the way home after telling the coach she was leaving. We have nothing but fond memories from her years on that AA team. We also feel indebted to them for their role in DD's recruitment. They did not play on the main fields and rarely played the top teams and I could not have cared less. Miraculously, she was seen by UCLA, Arizona State, Stanford and other PAC-10 and big D1 coaches. People seem to think playing for one of the big teams is a big deal. College coaches seek talent and go anywhere they think might have what they're looking for. My kid is going to a college because the coach wandered over to one of her games at a showcase. The college coach said she had never heard of my DD. She ended up recruiting her. OTOH, on the team she is currently on (big dog), one kid is going to a Big 10 school and one kid has verballed to a PAC 10 school. Other than that, I don't know of another kid going to a name college. And I guarantee you many of the kids are going to schools they didn't know existed until the coach expressed interest in them. In sum, this notion that playing for one of the big dogs is going to make your full ride dreams a reality is simply not so. If your kid is good enough to be REGULARLY STARTING on one of the big dogs, then it is likely she has the talent to be recruited by someone, though not neccessarily a major D1 softball program and not neccessarily a full ride. As a matter of fact I know a #1 pitcher on a team that may finish top 10 this year at 18G Nationls who has a HALF-Ride offer. For the last three years I've watched delusional parents deal with the lack of offers their kid was getting and they typical react with bewilderment. The reasons/excuses are often very entertaining. Hey, maybe it's because their kid isn't good enough and they have been delusional. Nah. Couldn't be. BTW, my kid was watched by many schools she had emailed and we never heard from them. Could it possibly be because they weren't impressed?

Rant over.

What happened for your DD isn't always the norm. It does make a difference what team you're
on (the player needs to do their part regardless). It's not the be all end all but being on the Firecrackers etc does make an impact. A big one.

I was wrong. I asked DD this weekend about this and most of her teammates ARE going to pretty big name schools. I was under the wrong impression.
