The weather here is a little brutal, I'm not going to lie. We had a rain storm come in Saturday like I have never seen. Is gets a little hot and humid in these parts. Met a lot of great people and a lot of heybucket fans. The Alabama Rebels hook us up with a nice field and a little southern hospitality. Thank you very much!!!
Pool play starts Monday( one game),Tuesday is the second pool play game. Bracket play starts Wednesday morning. Opening day ceremonies were at a AA stadium, The Biscuits, great place and they did a great job putting it together.
DD ball bag did not make it on our plane, we got in friday, I got her bat bag Sunday morning. I notice that her bag was torn in a few spots. When we took the bats out today all three bats that were in her bag we damaged, two of them are not useable. It must have been caught in one of the convey belts and grinded down the bats, United Airlines says that they are not responsible, One was a 04 rocket tech and the other was a Phoenix, the kid is bummed out.

#1...The right thing to say here is it sounds like everyone arrived in bama safe and sound and those of us back in SoCal are happy to hear that for sure. Unfortunately it doesn't change the fact that UA busted your kids bag, including 2 bats. Remind her the one with all the hits left in it is the one she's swinging.

thatguy you are right that is just a little thing if you look at the big picture. I thanked the man up stairs when the plane landed.

How's this, The weather here is not to bad the trees are green and the landscape is beautiful. I saw a few fishing holes that I would love to get a line in. The river by the stadium looked like a place to make a post card out of. The drinks never runout and all the boys are buying like it's 1999. I can't wait for tomorrow but I am very thankful for today.

Down here in Midland things have gone well. Don't know what ya'll in California feed your girls, but you are gone to have to tell us down here in Texas. I seen have the Cali. teams drive up and get out of there cars. lol. The Red cups have not been empty. Coors and Bud is sending a special train here to restock. Lots of practice games going on here, can't wait for the real deal to start. Good luck to all and be safe.

If UA isn't responsible for the bat bag, who is? I thought you could file a claim and submit damages. Check your homeowner's policy and see if you have any coverage.

I guess we will need to start putting the bat bags in a box, if the airlines are that irresponsible.

Is UA one of the airlines that is charging $30.00 per bag?

I know my DDs bat bag used to have about a $1,000 worth of equipment in it. She carried 3 bats and 2 gloves.

Out here in Owensboro it's pretty thick and muggy but all is still well. We were blessed enough that all luggage made it here all in one piece. Southern hospitality is not just a saying, we've found it to be very true. A local rec league near our hotel opened up their fields and batting cages to us and even brought out the lawn mower and cut the outfield grass ON TWO FIELDS for our use. Great people out here! Driving is a little bit crazy, being from SoCal when it's posted 55 that means you drive 70 (or sometimes 80) but here 50 MEANS 50! 35 mph in a constuction zone or else cough up $1000! However, stop lights apparently are not as important, plenty of rolling through reds going on.
Weather reports call for thunder showers Wednesday thu Friday with scattered thunder storms Saturday and Sunday, got hit by a small down pour last night but nothing of concern.
Opening ceremonies were held indoors at the sports complex, all went well including the umpire crew singing "Take me out to the ball game".
Pool play starts today, tonight for us. Can't wait for the games to begin. Girls are ready, LET'S PLAY BALL!

I don't know how well they will post game results so I'll try to send out updates when bracket play begins if the tourney web site isn't updated.
