Winter clinics in the Mid-Atlantic/SouthEastern area?

What's on your mind?

by jofus » Thu Nov 13, 2008 7:26 am

I know that there aren't as many people here from the eastern US as there are west-coasters and Texans, but I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for good winter clinics within reasonable driving distance of the mid-Atlantic area (We're in West Virginia, not exactly a softball hotspot :| ).

Also, has anyone taken their DD's to Michele Smith's Holiday camp down in Florida? We're thinking about trying that out next year, it looks like it would be fun :)

Thanks in advance :)

My 14 year old DN (darling niece) did the Michelle Smith Camp last summer in Delaware, not over Winter break in FLA....she is a pitcher and got a great deal out of the program and enjioyed the experience.

Just my $0.02.

I found this over on the other site - I looked at it and it is pretty good. Clinics aren't always that well advertised. Check the colleges in your area also - you may want to email the coach - sometimes they are "open to the public" because they have to be, but are not advertised.

Yeah, I found that fastpitch 411 site the other day while looking for clinics.

I think she may go to one at Radford U, it's closer than about anywhere else we could travel to, and I may check on one at USC(east) (as in University of South Carolina), one of my brother-in-laws live in Columbia, so we would have a free place to crash, which is always nice.

That's good to hear about the Michele Smith camp, the Holiday camp looks like it would be a fun time for the girls and family both.

If you are looking for college showcase events in the Southeast, go to http://www.southernstarsoftball.com

The All-Star showcase in January is later in the day on the same day as a camp at Georgia Southern University.
