DD participated in SPARQ fastpitch testing recently. She scored very well compared to others in her age range. Is this something that college coaches are interested in seeing? Is it something that should be put on a profile?
The conditions at which the testing takes place is not standardized. So it is really hard to tell how you stack up nationally. I would rather run on a track than grass, and throw inside versus throwing in to a 10mph wind outside. Those are some of the differences at test sites. Could mean the differenct in a 62mph pitch and 65mph, which will make a difference to the coaches.
But it is nice to see how they stack up at that particular event you do the testing.

Yes, you should put it on a profile if she did well.
It's just a buzzword, a phase & moneymaker... As one person told me who reviewed the data from one in Toledo two years ago, he said, all those kids couldn't be that bad.... it's true, college players were taking the times and not consistently as they did and measured the results..
That's an interesting take on it. My DD has attended these since she was in 8th grade and the testing was always very well done and consistent. We found it to be worth the money and the time.
One thing to add. She has interviewed with about 10 coaches in all ranges of divisions and not one even brought up Sparq testing or if she even tried it. Everyone has asked about grades, ACT scores and juggling busy schedules consistently.
Again, another perspective. We just put the information on the online profile. We did not pay extra for the SPARQ testing at NFCA camps, the camps were good, so she did it.
