The same people that believe his swing works believe in ufos and the 120mpg carburetors.

I would not let these two get anywhere near my DD swing.

Quite possibly the most ignorant drivel ever posted on Heybucket. Can we get this framed? Sounds like DD failed to make Scott's Gold team...

Good to hear. Less competition for my older dd (who is an Englishbey student) and less to worry about for my pitching dd (also an Englishbey student).

Regarding a clinic, the best way to have Steve Englishbey out is for some serious one on one time with the students. The way we did it best is to schedule out the time so each kid got serious face time with Steve, and be prepared for it to run over, because he doesnt like to a) follow schedules and b) quit until he is convinced the student understands. He teaches by demonstration and then having the student take cut after cut until the student has it down.

The most inspiration clinician I have ever watched is Lisa Fernandez for the all around game, pitching, fielding, hitting. I thought Lisa Daigle (of Smithson Valley) was the best I have seen for working with catchers.

At least you stand by your ridiculous statement instead of back peddling like a corner back.

I respect that.

As far as Steve Englishbey, I was introduced to him by a local JUCO baseball hitting coach/ex-Pan AM Games Softball member who really took this Englishbey guy serious. My boys spent two days (10 hours each day) with him one weekend in California. This guy is a freak of nature physically for his age, sure he can go overboard with how the body works during a swing, and lose some kids but he does teach some interesting things. I will say my kid did struggle that year, and his HS coach was wondering what in the heck did you change, I just dont think he grasped it all in a short period and it backfired. Now my DD I will not even introduce the swing to her for two reasons, her age (13) its just to in depth, and her hitting coach as well as a 18 Gold coach/ex-Stanford baseball hitting coach whom works with her teachs, to stay tall over your hips, while Englishbey's big thing was Tilt before turning, and those are two major conflictions in hitting styles.

Wow,

I just had this conversation with an OG TB coach. Both his DDs are now playing at a Division I school and he has been through it all. He warned me to stay away from Englishbey unless I had an older DD who could grasp all the info he puts out. Said if you have a very bright 16-18 year old he is one of the best. But if your kid is younger, watch out. He forgot how to teach to younger kids somewhere along the way. I never met the man but have heard a lot of great comments about him.
To each their own.
