Bat Repair

What's on your mind?

by eclark4601 » Sat Apr 05, 2008 2:54 pm

DD's Synergy losy it end cap. The bat looked OK so I put the cap back in. After hitting with it she said it seemed fine but the end cao had worked out a little. It looked like the cap may have been glued in. Is it OK to glue it in? Is it legal? Is this a sign it is wore out? The bat is 15 months old and has been used in both TB and HS, and in the batting cage. Thanks for any help.

The end caps come offf from time to time. You can replace or have factory replace. Manufacturers say to replace endcaps. This will also give them a chance to look the bat over for roundness and cracks.

I wouldnt glue it if I were you, send it to the mnf... I'd be pretty much sure it was a shaved bat if I came across some glued on end cap. When I check bats, I always look for that. If you do it, it definitely is an altered bat and not legal.

Send it in and have it checked out.
