Worth Firecrackers 18Gold and 16U winning in Colorado

What's on your mind?

I am surprise that Cal Lite is not mentioned. They left all their signed players at home and were up on the Firecrackers 6-0 and ran out of gas (not taking anythng away from Firecrackers) and lost 8-7. This is with their top pitcher at home, plus 4 other signed players at home They also beat a great Texas Impact team who won the Firecracker last year, they were playing with their signed players too.

I'm not. All the teams getting props won the championship.

What you wrote about Escobedo was classy. However, the response by the Sting parent badmouthing her to prop up Ricketts was nauseating

Sorry, Im not a sting parent. As for your comment, demongirl. Im not knocking Escabedo, she is the best 10' pitcher in the country. Ricketts is one of the best 09's in the country. Both are good. Ricketts doesnt need me to prop her up, just watch the kid throw. Escabedo is a great pitcher who will be on TV every year for 4 years just after memorial day.

"Im not knocking Escabedo, she is the best 10' pitcher in the blah blah blah blah back peddle back peddle"

Uh huh. So this must be a backhanded compliment : "You being in Nor Cal should know how Ricketts throws..theres a big difference between Escabedo and Ricketts...Ricketts would of never allowed 5 runs to the sorcerers or even 5 hits and her ball is not flat like the hotshots stud".

"Sorry, Im not a sting parent"

Uh......ok:

"Sorcerer players should tell you how legit Ricketts is since she struck most of them out"

Sorcerer's did not see Ms. Escobedo at her best. I hope they find a way to qualify so there can be a rematch. Two hit batters and two wild pitches plated the winning run. Most runs for both sides were unearned. I think at least three runs scored on pass balls/wild pitches by Hotshots. Very unusual for this team. Hope to catch them again later when both teams are playing at their best, Hotshots didn't show up in this game. BTW, Escobedo struck out 8 batters in 5 1/3 innings. Sorcerer's struck out 6 in 6 innings.

They already have qualified so you just might get your rematch.

Actually the "if" game was not played. I believe Cal Lite and Firecrackers were Co-Champs.

With only 64 teams the chances are good for a rematch. It will be nice to play a full seven innings and not have to deal with "clock management". As for teams leaving signed players at home, there are a lot of teams who don't have that luxury as most of their players are signed or verballed.

"With only 64 teams the chances are good for a rematch"

Not necessarily. As the Gold format is essentially two parallel tournaments at the same time with only one opportunity to flop, they might only meet in the Championship game is they draw onto opposite sides of the bracket. Thus their odds are 1 in 32 in that scenario.

Then again as Hotshots qualified out of the Territory, they would not be protected in bracket play and they could meet first game. Had Hotshots qualfied in the same Territory qualfier as Sorcerror they would be protected from each other for two games.
