Hurricane friendly is still on. I talked to family in San Clamente. They said its clear as a bell. I think the wind is blowing in the opposite direction.

I rather suspect the issue is not so much whether the venue is clear but whether most of the players are affected at their homes. It looks as if travel to and from the venue is going to be challenging and some teams will probably be missing players.

I took this picture in the last game of the No Mercy Friendly in Baldwin Park. Its about 4pm but it looks like sunset. We did not smell the smoke until the last game.

Our Desert Blaze 12u was playing a friendly today in Hacienda Heights, it has been cancelled. Last week we got rained out in Redlands. First rain now fire.

NSA tournament in Walnut called off right before the semi-final game due to smoke. Congrats to all the teams that qualified! To all the families affected by the fires our prayers are with you!

Saturday at practice (LA county) we started to smell smoke.
by the time we drove back to OC around 1pm, the sky was black...
My kid took some pictures from our vehicle with my phone. These pics were about 15-20 miles away from the Brea/yorba linda fires. not the best quality, but you can see how huge these fires were at the time.

That looks like a normal San Gabriel Valley sky to me.
