What's on your mind?

The entire team was invited to a Dallas Mavericks game in a luxury booth by Mark Cuban....true.

Well I guess perpetrating a suckfest so severe in it's futility that the WINNING coach gets fired deserves a reward on style points alone.

Oh wait, they didn't score any points.

Not arguing your point Sam just mentioning a different report in the media again this comes back to a key point in your last post "A parent of a Dallas academy player".

Box score
Dallas Academy 0 The Covenant Sch. 100

1 2 3 4 Final
Dallas Academy 0 0 0 0 --0
The Covenant Sch. 35 24 29 12 --100

Do you consider the 4-66 or 7-49 or 6-55 score any better? At what point should those coaches have backed off. In the 4-66 game Dallas Academy scored 2 in the 1st and 2 in the 4th with a 40-2 score at the half.

December 11, 2008 at Yavneh Academy L 6 - 55
January 6, 2009 * at Waxahachie Prepatory Academy L 4 - 66
January 9, 2009 * vs Fairhill L 7 - 49
January 13, 2009 * at The Covenant School L 0 - 100

Only 8 girls on the Covenant HS roster....there were no 2nd/3rd stringers in the game.

He clearly ran it up, pressing into the 4th quarter...as the 88-0 3rd Qtr score reflects...an average of nearly 4 points per minute.

No shot clock...he could have worked on stalling.

Anyone know why there is no mercy rule in basketball?

Do people expect the coach to tell his team to just play keep-away? That is ussually more infuriating than anything.
Run the offense, but don't shoot? Practice perimiter shooting, but don't make the shots? Practice shooting from half court?
Don't press.....don't shoot......maybe he could have told them not to hustle too.

I'm not sure what should have been done, but I have been beat by the other team....48-2. We were playing a game we never should have been in. I don't blame the other team or the coach. It was a matter of circumstance and we lived through it. I can't say for a second that we were better off for playing through, but whenever we are on the other end, it's quite easy to remind them(the team) about humility and mercy.

I think there is more to this story. I'm guessing the guy was an ass to begin with and probably set a goal....just to show everyone.

We have cancelled games....both softball and basketball, rather than being forced to play down to such an inferior competition.

Anybody that knows anything about basketball knows that Dean Smith did this for years...it was called the four corners offense....which he ran when his team was ahead.

I have seen three people say the team pressed into the 4th quarters. Were you there? I have seen no news saying this. I have seen them say they shot three pointers. Well dang its alot harder shoot a shot from 20 plus feet then 2 feet. I guess they should have shot half court shots.

What is funny is the news keeps saying they had the starters for the whole game but they wont say there is only 8 players on the team. Just like the news is only saying facts that make it look worse for one side.

But to be honest 100-0. WOW

Read the post I placed with the newspaper quote from the parent and the losing coach....add that to the score by quarters and you have 3 full quarters of pressing. Your comment regarding shooting 3 pointers borders on idiocy.

From AP: Dallas Academy has eight girls on its varsity team and about 20 girls in its high school. It is winless over the last four seasons. The academy boasts of its small class sizes and specializes in teaching students struggling with “learning differences,” such as short attention spans or dyslexia.

Maybe the Academy girls simply lost interest, or forgot the object of the game, or even thought the score was going up in their favor!

And they arent winless, they are 1-4 this season. But they lose lopsided often.

The rematch is January 30th, at D.A.
Ladies, if a man tells you he will fix it, he will fix it. There is no reason to remind him about it every six months.

Their one win is a forfeit by the team that scored 100 points. School made the team forfeit the win.
