Those of us who loved the Orioles back when they were a good team loved Earl Weaver. He had something a lot of professional ball players and managers don't have nowadays, passion!

Yeah, he could be dramatic, but if you were an O's fan you loved it!

I've got 2 kids this year that are turning into real drama queens when it comes to injuries. . .
Any ideas that can help me?

Coach the players, not the drama. Don't give any attention to their drama. When they get no attention for their attention-getting device (drama), they'll drop it or look elsewhere for attention (quit the team).

You're a softball coach: a coach of players, not of drama students.

You'll feel much better if you can do this. And it takes mental and emotional discipline not to react to their ploys. Also, watch out for any clever moves on their part, like trying to draw in their teammates now that that they don't have "daddy's" or "mommy's" special attention. Keep everyone busy and focused on what they're getting out of playing and practicing the game.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed. I am going to have a sit down with the players involved and talk through the effects of their actions. They are good kids so I'm hoping this works. If not I'll try not making a big deal of it and let my team leaders handle the issue.

For those who brought up the "Drama Kings" I appreciate the prespective. I have indeed seen many of them on and off the field as well.
