Any word on if the games are teeming with college coaches?

This is something I've always wondered about. In today's world with all the hi-tech methods of advertising oneself and the coaches distributing verbals like candy on Halloween, why would they bother with this tournament? Many of these girls are already spoken for and other than an obligatory check on their already wrapped-up player(s), how often is this trip beneficial in finding that diamond in the rough? I'm sure there are some very positive results for some players, but when speaking of it as a large group, I'm not too sure it is worth the coach's expenses.

Seems to me, some would say unfortunately, that many coaches are working the "futures" circuit and watching development of players at the 16U. Even in our states, the local coaches show for the 16s, but rarely the 18s unless checking in on one of their established prospects. Of course, depending on what, if any, action the NCAA takes on "verbals" and the administration of them, this may change in the near future.

As much as I have come to dislike ASA over the years, I have to give them credit for setting up an impressive website for this tournament. The updates are timely and the box scores are fantastic. They made it easy ( even for computer illiterates like me) to follow teams and players.

Who will close the deal, can Wichita Mustangs make a come back or does Team North Florida have it in the bag?

Tampa Mustangs look tough and don't forget about Texas Impact Gold.

Newton Rock making a run at it, Where did they come from?

Sam Greiner, 0 ER through 6 games. She's headed to South Florida. Where USA National Team head coach Erickson came from (is still at??).

The Rock just put up 5 in the 6th vs Carley Hoover (Stanford) and TNF to take 5-4 lead in Winner's Bracket final. Loser will play TX Impact Gold, who just beat GC Hurricanes in LB.

3 teams left.

Next week we'll see how your best TX teams fare against the best CA teams. Until then, all you have is 3rd place in the B tourney. Congratulations.

TNF rallies for 5 runs in bottom 6th to force the if game.
Greiner has pitched every inning for Newtown Rock so far.

Uh oh, just heard they've cancelled the if game, because that's the current trend. And it might be dark by the time the game is over, and nobody has the key to the lights. And there are flights to catch. And the coaches don't want anyone hurt. And with SoCal traffic the way it is, they want to make sure to get to Huntington Beach by Monday, to watch the big dogs play.
j/k, of course.
