How would you go back & coach T-ball now?

This is very helpful, I just finished installing a cage on one of the littlest helmets I ever seen lol.
Seems like my wifes boss has a 7yo that wants to play ball & needs gear, I found a couple bats and a few incrediballs laying around the lockeroom (garage) This lil girl has never even thrown a ball as of yet and she will be attending a clinic Tomm. I thought I would be able to take the cage down & plant grass this summer when my youngest heads East to college..... Ah hell, I guess it could wait another 11yrs. What else would I do with all this spare time ??

The one thing I do remembr is to teach them to catch with a "softie" then the Incrediball.

i could not return to teeball , there was a little boy who was on my team , and he lost something very special to him he was crying for days walking aimlessly through the park weaving back and forth wondering where could it be , he went to the snack bar and pleaded with them ; you have to find it! please help me and find it ? the lady in the snackbar looked concerned,you know her eyebrows were in that position, and she ask the little boy find what , my little red icechest filled with my special drinks he sighed.

Well lets see... You would have to drag me kicking and screaming, beat me, put a gun to my head, hit me with a demarini phoenix, force me to listen to demon boys music while siting me in a room with Sam for 18 hours explaining to me his philosophy on So Cal ASA management, drag me behind a horse, have someone scrape their teeth on a fork for hours, and force me to work 10U Rec without shin guards...

And if I couldnt put up with all that torture and succumbed to having to coach Tball, I'm guessing it would become all about the moms.

At a parents meeting I would request that the price tags be removed from the gloves prior to them bringing their little terrorists to the field ... and the laces on their sneakers or cleats be double knotted or welded into place ...

Favorite throwing drill was the Barney drill. I used to bring a stuffed Barney the dinosaur toy to practice and at the end of practice, before we ran the relay race, Barney would sit on my bucket and the kids would throw at him just like in one of those arcade games. Knock Barney off the bucket and win a prize. There are some great websites out there full of drills for all ages. Like everyone else has said, keep it fun, keep it fast, and keep repeating.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this thread. . . My DDs and I sometimes will stop by the local rec field on the way home from lessons just to sit in the stands, eat a hotdog, and remember what started all of this. I think that attending one T-ball game a week should be a mandatory requirement for all ASA "A" parents and coaches.
