What's on your mind?

 ...Well I thought they were empty. Maybe I was just too drunk to know. My alcoholism is directly related to my DD pitching. I never drank before. I had no friends, I secluded myself from social events. I couldn't even sit in the stands but I could hit a gnat's ass in the circle from the other side of the right field fence... with a beer bottle. As soon as she started catching, all that changed. I now have friends and I can watch the game. Everything is so much better. Although my wife says that I'm not much fun now that I've stopped drinking.

I have talked to her a few times and she says she wants to do both. how would you handle this situation?
thanks

I think you are the one that has to handle how you make your DD decide to pitch or catch. I went through the same thing. It wasn't easy because it is such a sensitive situation. I can only tell you how I handled it once I saw that she was trying to decide for herself.

I put her on a new team. I had to go pretty far away where nobody really knew her and I told her that I wasn't going to tell the new team she pitched. If she wanted to tryout to pitch then she would have to tell them. She chose to tryout for catcher and the rest is history.

Battle is a protege of Patches O'Houlihan - "If you can dodge a beer bottle, you can pitch a softball." They quickly learn they don't have to dodge the bottles, just stand still so they don't move into one.
