We don't do 'Friendlies' on the East Coast ... or if they do, we have never heard of it or participated in one ... but looking at this from the outside and being a vegetarian and compulsive label reader ... there is usually not much available at any snack bar that I could or would eat ... not saying I would light up the grill and rotiserie a Tofurkey either ... But does anyone from a hosting team ever circulate with a roll of 2 part tickets for a 50-50 drawing ? ... seems to me that the host team could make out as well as a visiting team or parent ...

Edit: I'm a vegetarian only when there is no Polish Sausage or Brautworst around ...

it's a no-brainer!
you support the friendly snack bar during the games, and head across the street when you are finished playing...

You do need to quench that thirst from coaching all day....I mean, talking to the girls through 3 games takes a lot out of you! Good luck this weekend!

What would be a resonable price to charge for water? Or Gatorade?

If a concession stand has water for a $1 - I will buy from the stand otherwise I go to my car and drink my own. I don't mind supporting the concession stands but I am not going to just throw them money.

One problem in the midwest is IF the team will have a concession stand. In HS ball it is very questionable. When we play double headers on Saturday it is hard to tell what will be there. Our team feeds the other team as a courtesy. But that is not usually the case when we play away games.

The other problem is healthy food. It is very expensive to keep healthy food available. I have always found it funny with schools. They complain the parents do not feed the kids correctly and are the reason for childhood obesity. BUT they schedule games during normal dinner hour. Then have pizza, taco in a bag and a boat load of candy at the concession stand for the kids to snack on.

I know this was originally about travel ball but with HS season just beginning...

Chicken bowls are steamed rice and grilled chicken and they sometimes put BBQ sauce or Teriyaki Sauce on it.

walking taco ,simple version:99 cent frito bag split open on the side smothered with meaty chili dice tomatoes, onions, a dollop of sour cream and covered in with shredded cheddar cheese.

Really good tasing and sometimes pretty filling but you'll burn up some carbon footprints..after effects ..better get some tums buddy...

I live in the heart of Hispanic food and hadn't heard of a walking taco, either. It must just be a name that some one made up. Like the horseshoes in Springfield IL.

That said, my slow pitch coach sold Navajo tacos and beer at her husband's slow pitch games and made enough money to sponsor us for the last 18 months. (And yes, there was a concession stand - but they can't serve beer. I asked how she did that and she said "donation.")

Where is the "heart of Hispanic food"? I work in West Dallas so I would challenge you on that.......... of course we have Mexican, not "Hispanic", food there, if you can't order in border spanish you may not get what you asked for.......
