I think it will come down to Nelson-Lawrie and Cochran with Nelson winning it - just favors pitchers3Bsnag wrote:Top 10 Finalists released today:
Stacie Chambers (Arizona) – Junior – Catcher – Glendale, Az. Check out what she has done against Penna and Lawrie -look at her in conference stats
Kaitlin Cochran (Arizona State) - Senior- Outfield - Yorba Linda, Calif. She has hit off of Nelson, Penna and Lawrie-ask Lawrie who she would rather face-Cochran or Chambers
Amber Flores (Oklahoma) – Junior – Infield – Calexico, Calif. Very good player just short of Cochran stats and does not run as well
Alisa Goler (Georgia) – Sophomore – Infield – Frankfort, Ill. Does not hit the really strong pitchers-check her stats against Neslon and Dunne
Danielle Lawrie (Washington) – Junior - Pitcher – Langley, British Columbia Worthy of consideration - Ask yourself this - If she is the better choice why have pitchers walked or hit Cochran over 270 times? Because they don't want to face her!
Charlotte Morgan (Alabama) – Junior– Pitcher/Utility – Moreno Valley, Calif. Not quite poy status yet - had a better year last year
Stacey Nelson (Florida) – Senior – Pitcher – Los Alamitos, Calif. Ask the same question as Lawrie - She pitched to her and gave up 2 doubles and a walk
Amber Patton (DePaul) – Senior – Third Base - Forsyth, Ill. not quite there
Missy Penna (Stanford) – Senior – Pitcher/Infield – Miami, Fla. short of Nelson and Lawrie status
Tammy Williams (Northwestern) – Senior – Infield - Roscoe, Mo. Does not put up comparable numbers in a much weaker conference
Watching the last few weeks, I think it comes down to Cochran, Nelson, and Penna with the award going to Nelson.
