Thanks very much for the concern. She's okay. The injury was to her little finger on the glove hand. X-Rays showed no break but the finger is swelled, discolored and very tender. She was hit by a comebacker and said she couldn't get the glove turned in time. If you know her it's uncommon that she has trouble with a play but this hitter got every bit of the ball and the pitching distance is at 40 feet now rather than 43. Nancy's at practice today.

Thats very good news, I have been getting updates thru my wife, She has been talking to yours, You know how that softball-mom pipeline is. It is not my place to post about anothers child, Say hey to Pigpen for me.

Edit to add, I had no doubt that she would be ready to go this weekend, I have known for quite a few years that she is a very tough kid.

Good news Bill. The biggest hazzard of being a high school pitcher, can be the coaches pitch calling. The only gripe I have is when their mistakes put my DD in danger. Once the coach figures out how to adjust his pitch calling to her actual pitching, she will perform better. She also needs to make adjustments to what he calls.

Sorry ... I had to point out that Santiago got beat last weekend 9-4 by Vista Murrieta High School including back-to-back homers off the ace of the staff ... ... While it was called a scrimmage game ... there were umpires ... scores kept ... and all rules followed like a regular game ... just in case someone wanted to try and throw out there that it was merely a scrimmage ... Just an FYI to all those Shark lovers out there

I'm not sure who you are talking about above, or I would address it. (You can PM me.) Either way I was not speaking specifically about any coach, but about many HS coaches in general.

Our coach actually does an exceptional job most of the time. If he gave up his day job, he could be a good travel coach. He actually played men's fastpitch back when it was big. Our program is lucky to be really strong and not be a joke, like I hear so much about at other schools. I do hear alot of jokes from girls we play travel with about coaches and pitch calling.

Even with someone who know what they are doing, the initial change from travel coach to HS coach is a bit of an adjustment. I tell my DD that by the end of the year you will be throwing the HS coaches favorite pitches really well.
