Not HB though, it starts out with how to hit it/lay off it then wanders over to mens FP before meandering down to the gay bathhouse and five pages later here we are at the whole "does it rise?" question.

Pretty much more or less stayed on topic the whole time though, is that a first?

And therein lies the popularity of Heybucket... you get what you came for, and so much more.

Just because there are signs of intelligent life in the universe, that doesn't mean... umm... uh... what was I saying?

hhmmm? :? If a rise ball doesn't rise does that mean a screaming liner to the outfield with backspin on it doesn't rise ? ... I don't need video evidence ... :geek: but back in the day ... many a frosty pitcher was emptied debating that very point ... it seems that Infielders don't buy it but Outfielders do ... so, if you get lit up by a Rise Ball I suppose it does exist and if you hit it ... then it doesn't exist

I have yet to see a pitcher that can match the exit speed of a ball off a bat.

Agreed ... so the more speed/spin ... the more rise ... the Nay Sayers just haven't figured out the mathmatical formula yet is my point ...

If you are one of the ones that thinks a riseball actually does rise or jump, I suggest you do your own research. This has been debated over the years and there are many terrific forum threads from people I would consider experts.

Rick Pauly (Sarah's dad) and Ssarge had a great one going 3 or 4 years ago that was pretty detailed and included angles and slo mo of Sarah. Now sorry I didn't keep it.

It doesn't mean that pitch doesn't look like its rising. It's fooled many great batters.

No, none of them ever really debated a rise ball. All they do is invent their very own criteria for what constitutes a rise ball then debate against it by talking about nasa and RPMs.

Not a single one of them has ever offered reasonable debate against a rise ball. All you have to is look at one. Yep, it rose. It ended higher than where it began.. hence by dictionary definition - End of real debate.

The rest is some other debate they invent on their own. They are not discussing softball's pitch called a rise ball.

If someone on some message board can convince you you are not really seeing a rise ball (by softball's and the dictionary's definition, not by some definition you invent)

Then I dunno what to tell you.
