Sorry Spaz, you are only half right on this one.
My response is to your statement and has nothing to do with the fresno drama.
I agree that parents are the one's that should be shaping our kids values, but are you telling me that the people we allow our kids to be around have no affect on their values. I would not allow my kids to hang around other kids that do things that are contrary to my values, would you? Heck, I have family that I rarely visit because I don't agree with their values and parenting practices. I believe if you allow a particular behavior you condone that behavior.
What we do, we teach. What we allow, we teach.
If my dd's coach ever lost control I would expect an explanation and an apology. If his behavior continued I would leave.
My dd played in a 12u friendly where the opposing coach snapped on his pitcher. The coach walked out to the circle chewed her out in front of everyone. Before walking back to the dugout he slapped the girls visor knocking it down over her eyes. After the game I took my daughter aside and told her that I would never allow anyone to speak to her like that and she should never allow anyone to treat her that way.
It is our job as parents to protect, monitor and oversee our kids from as much crap as we can.

I'll bet that kid was his DD. Just guessing, but no other parent would allow a coach to do that.
