Things were a lot livelier in Mackey Arena when Bobby came to play. Still hate IU but it's not the same now.

I will add not stealing home on a passed ball. I've seen that lots of times from both sides of the ball. It is appreciated by those on the losing end.

Just get the mercy rule in FP.. its appreciated by everyone. If its only 2nd inning and 15-0.. step off early, so we can get to the 3rd inning and the misery over with.. then get three outs quickly. If its 14-0 in the 3rd, yes steal home. Then its over and all are happy.

We were on the winning side of a game that had gotten out of hand this past Summer in Williamsburg ... the other team was just falling apart and nothing was going their way ... The Blue asked us to start leaving early or something ... the thing was, we already were for the last 2 innings and he was missing it ...

It IS kinda funny though that you kinda have to get the umps attention when you are doing it, yet we seem to get a "left early" call almost every game, (when we have NEVER left early!). ;)

No kidding. We have never left early ever, ever either. ;) I remember telling a kid to leave early - she does, the blue is looking in the stands. finally I said, 'blue - she is leaving early' - and he said "I will be the judge of that !" Then he realised that it was me that said it, instead of the defensive coach, and he grinned the rest of the time.

Have you ever told a kid to leave early, and she wouldnt do it. I had my youngest at 3rd, I told her - 'leave as soon as she is in the circle ' young sweet dd says "yea, right, if they are going to get me, they are going to have to try". I looked at the blue, and he said 'Coach, you cant do any more than that and I am not going to begrudge her' nodding at my dd.

Why doesn't everybody just have the runner stop or fake going to the next base when the ball goes back into the circle?

Well ... after his warning to start leaving early, when he finally did call us for leaving early ... we had a gal on 3rd who doesn't get much playing time ... and she wasn't eager to get called for it ... but she was half way home before the hurler started her motion ... ... her Dad didn't realize we had told her to do it and about hatched a horn toad ....

What is it with TX and special ed kids?

This just reported out of Buda, TX, Hays High School was evacuated because of a bomb threat, but they left the special ed kids in the classroom. The principal said she was "acting out of compassion for them."

Seems to me the "Bus Barn" idea may have been better, you know, just in case.
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.
