What's on your mind?

I held back.

Let's suppose, knowing what you know now, that you were grooming your player to be a top prospect from 8u to College level.

Knowing what I know now, as a father I would tell the parent of an 8u kid who asks this question that "your player" is your daughter first and foremost. Having a 10 year plan for your 8 old has caused more than a few kids to resent the game and the parent.

There is almost always someone better who can push your "player" to the bench, and one injury ends a career. There is a hell of a lot more that will go wrong with a 10 yr plan than will go right. Save the grooming for the show animals.

OK, I have used up my HB allotment for the year.

Well I'm a little biased but I would say pitcher right off the top.... However, if she has natural athleticism as well, then I would train her as a hitting pitcher....
