You are probably wondering "Marc, where have you been?" since you have not heard from me in 3 weeks.
Well, let me tell you.
I have been working hard behind the scenes for you. I have a lot of new stuff coming out very soon.
It's a mix of various things - improved website, new blog, new websites, new products, new tips, new online application, etc.
I tell you - a lot of great stuff.
During that period, I spent a week in South Florida in Boca Raton, Deerfield Beach, Coral Springs and Boynton Beach.
There was some nice facilities - Coral Springs especially.
During my stay in Florida, I did two things. I filmed a few new instructional DVDs and video tips as well as helping out with a softball training camp.
Let me tell you - that was a nice break from the crazy winter we have in the Northeast. We've had more snow this year than in the last 35 years (to the point that several businesses and houses had their roof collapsed over the last few days because of the major accumulations!)
Last week as some of you might be aware of, there was a major snow storm in the northeast.
And because of that storm, they cancelled all flights and I got stuck in Atlanta for 2 days. I finally flew back to Manchester, NH and rented a car and drove back to Montreal to get back home faster!
BTW, the drive through New Hampshire and Vermont is just gorgeous!
And guess what? My suitcase didn't follow either and I got it 5 days later.
Anyways, what a nightmare it was. That's not counting the cost of the hotel, rental car and food.
However, what can we learn from all of that? (you know, there has to be a softball lesson tied into it!!!)
Life throws a lot of curveballs at you and so does the game of softball. And you know what, most of the time you have no control on those curveballs whatsoever.
A lot of things and events happen and you have no control over them. So, is it really worth whining and complaining about that?
What you have control over are your reactions, your attitude and
your actions.
Throughout this nightmare - I stayed positive.
Why would I waste time being mad and angry when I can't control it and it is mostly due to mother nature acting out?
By just accepting the fact that I don't control this and that life does throw curveballs at you, my anxiety level went down and I was lot cooler about the whole thing and it made this "nightmare" a lot more tolerable.
I just spend more time reading, relaxing, thinking about my new projects and thinking about how to overcome that big obstacle with the least consequences.
So, on the field, instead of whining about everything like weather, field conditions, umpires, parents, etc. Focus on what your control - your attitude, your thoughts and your actions.
Your game will be a lot better because of it and you will be less bitter also and more pleasant to be around!

P.S. Seriously, think about it.. is is worth to whine and complain about things you have no control over? Use that time to focus on your and your game instead. It will be a lot more beneficial!
P.P.S. Do you live in the greater Nashville area? If so, I am coming to Nashville from April 2nd to April 6 for a conference (not softball-related) and I could be available for private sessions, clinics or workshops if anybody was interested.
