Wrist Brace

What's on your mind?

Does anyone know of a good youth wrist brace for a pitcher? Daughter is starting to have slight wrist pain.

Does your daughter go to a pitching coach? What do they recommend?

Wrist pain is definitely odd, but don't use something too restricting that could create problems elsewhere.... Use a neoprene sleeve or something

She does have a pitching coach. She sees her doctor on Monday to see what it could be. I just want something for her to wear to prevent anymore discomfort.

The arm is meant to move freely (i.e. elbow wrist, fingers) if you wear something that restricts the wrist movement too much then you might end up putting too much strain or force on the elbow, bicep or forearm. Creating a problem that wasnt even there to begin with!!!! Thats why I suggest neoprene sleeves they help but they don't really restrict movement much..

Injury is not inherent with fastpitch pitching and should not just be accepted. If your daughter is experiencing pain she is likely either overworking (ie not enough recovery), the mechanics she is being taught are incorrect, or she is not performing the mechanics that she is being shown correctly. She should be recovering, not continuing to pitch through the pain. Her body is telling her to stop, so she/you should be listening to that.
