I think they should extend eligibility- should it be done for all class levels? Will this cause a log jam?(ie incoming freshmen)

For the majority of seniors this was probably their last games- life goes on, careers etc...

JV it will definitely cause a log jam but they really need to think this thing through. They just pulled the plug without thinking about it. Maybe they say softball is suspended for a week n we will decide what the best route is after the week is up.

Agreed, They should have suspended and not cancelled outright! A couple of weeks could be made up and would bring a whole new light to the current situation with things developing hour to hour!

It doesn't do most of the Seniors any good to get another year. They still have to attend school and carry the required units, AFTER they've graduated. Most will need to get on with their lives and careers. This was a knee jerk reaction that cost a lot a lot of athletes some great memories. A 3 week evaluation period to see how things develop would have cost them nothing.

Three weeks would be a minimum. This virus will be growing for at least three weeks an will be a high levels at least through May. Look at Italy and China. These are modern countries with outstanding healthcare and they are overwhelmed. We need to slow the progress of this thing and your biggest concern is Susie’s final season was cutoff? Please.......

Why would it not be a good thing to get another year, mine got an extra year and now has 2 degree’s. You guys said senior’s would want to get on with their lives, how about another year of paid education. Not to mention a chance to finish their softball career properly and on their own terms.

Will schools extend scholarships an extra year(can they).? Since there is a finite numbers of scholarships and slots- will this have a effect on already committed high school seniors starting in college next fall?
