The best always do. Not sure if it has been mentioned on HeyBucket, but NPF officially cancels 2020 season (5/15/2020 was the date of the article)

554 Reported COVID deaths in Colorado 1 March - 11 April

905 expected deaths over expected 1 Feb - 11 April
650 expected deaths over expected 1 March - 11 April

That's 255 deaths over expected in February. None of them were COVID because the first recorded death in the US was 2/26/20 in Seattle.

You're a math guy. Their estimates are wrong and the delta's are provably not unreported COVID deaths.

Perhaps a typo in that paper. I rechecked from the primary source (cdc) and another secondary source. The Excess Deaths in Colorado March thru April was 800

Highway deaths are down- That’s why the excess death calculation works well. It gives a net return and minimizes the impact of over and under reporting

Sam I guess the question is- if your daughter was still playing would you feel it was worth the risk to go to big tournament, let alone travel to a national tournament?

Saw that too about the TCS summer league. Turns out half of our team wouldn't be able to make it for the reasons Spaz listed above. I like the effort but the execution seems to be lacking.

You betcha. She would literally be in more danger staying at home. I would not pitch her more than twice in a week, though.

But what danger would she then pose to others?

The response should have been to isolate anyone in a high risk group. Not try and destroy the whole country’s economy and ruin the lives of millions.
