For the sake of your children, assuming you love them, I'm going to dumb this down so that EVERYONE can understand it. I don't want there to be any excuses if we are having this exact same conversation next year. Regardless of what you think of this virus, or how it is spreading, it's very real. If you don't think so, try taking your family out to your favorite local restaurant for dinner tonight.
This virus will NOT go away until there is a national strategy to quell it. That will NEVER happen under this president. He is NOT a doer, he is a blamer and grifter. That's all he has known his entire life. His niece just wrote a telling book about him and his dysfunctional family, and Trump has some SERIOUS daddy issues. He lacks the mental capacity to lead America out of this pandemic.
Do you know who is saying this the loudest? It sure ain't Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer. It's genuine conservatives that are trying to save the Republican Party from the whack jobs that have hijacked it. One of them is Steve Schmitt, the guy who ran the campaign for the man you all would have crawled over broken glass for back in 2008, John McCain. He is the guy driving all of those Lincoln Project ads that are exposing Trump for his incompetency and treason.
I grew up in one of the most Reoublican states in the country. All of my family and friend's families were Republicans. Some of you may be too young to know this, but the Republican Party was once sane and respectable. One of my best friends, that I communicate with regularly, voted for Trump in 2016. But guess what? He's not an idiot. He has now seen that Trump is a grifter and buffoon, and will not make that same mistake again. That's called maturity. He changed his way of thinking when he realized that Trump was an actual threat to our country. If you haven't realized that by now, there is definitely something wrong with you. That's not a political statement. It's a matter of patriotism and whether or not you love your family and country.
