No travel to other States for CA teams

What's on your mind?

by sdiamond » Tue Dec 15, 2020 11:07 am

Today the CA Health Dept rolled out New rules regarding youth Sports. Teams can still "practice" if the Cities allow it however NO games. Also they put out a color chart as to when certain sports can play. Who are the experts who decided this?

Teams are not allowed to Travel outside of California to compete anymore and these rules are in effect until Jan 25th and could be exteneded.

I dont want to get into politics here I posted a thread back in September to sign a petition, it had close to 5000 views and only 1276 signatures. I sent it to the Governors Office 8 times with NO response. This tells me NO one in Politics truly cares about the youth in CA and the issues this confinement is causing for them.

No doubt this disease is horrific but so is locking down the future of our country, our children. I have 4 daughters, 2 sets of twins 14 months apart. Two of them are Seniors one plays Soccer the other Softball. Yes they miss their sports but they miss their friends and teachers and hopefully with the vaccine out, come June they will be able to walk across the stage and get their diplomas unlike 2020 Seniors.

Its up to all of us no matter political party to make a change for our youth. Be safe. Merry Christmas and Hopefully a Very Happy New Year.

Well said! I signed the petition awhile back. I too wish it got more attention than it did, but I would like to say thanks for putting out the effort. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!!

You have to read and understand the wording it says “must not” it doesn’t say you “can’t” This is from their website

Teams must not participate in out-of-state tournaments; several multistate outbreaks have been reported in CA residents and around the nation.

They can only legally regulate what you can do in California, and even then it is up to each County as to what you can do and how they will enforce those rules.

Bullhead City and Prescott Arizona are hosting Tournaments in January. Also triple Crown has a Big Event January 29-31 in Vegas.

Talking to friends who live in Vegas and Mesquite they are hurting financially. Hotels right now are giving huge discounts to get people to come but many hotels are also closing room rentals Mon-Thursday.

We all know how much our California Travel Teams have helped Phoenix areas economy since August and its not an easy drive to Prescott but it's for our children and I know the softball communities parents are a close knit group and I expect they will continue to travel.

Softball/Baseball social distancing is some of the easiest to do and its been proven. I know all of you know this and it frustrates me Movie production companies are considered essential, but arent our kids essential?

At least CIF lifted the dark period this year to give the 2021 kids extra time to commit but if they dont open the fields for competition in CA, Nevada, Arizona and Utah I can see teams traveling to Texas in the near future.

Merry Christmas to all of you and hopefully 2021 is going to be a good year for you all!

Arizona is STILL No. 1 in the nation for COVID-19 spread, No statewide mandate to wear masks. No order to close bars or to further restrict indoor restaurant dining. No requirement that visitors to our state get tested or quarantine upon arrival to try to prevent further spread the disease.December is just half over and already there are at 88,008 confirmed cases.

Arizona reports 5,817 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Thursday December 17th and another 147 dead.

The cases dont really bother me its those who are dying that does. It may be wise to stay at home a few more weeks.

Orange Man declared this virus a war on our country. Well, if that's true, you don't allow 50 individual state governors to decide the best strategy on how to defend the country during a national crisis. That kind of Herculean effort has to be managed at the federal level.

Can you imagine how WWII would have turned out if FDR went on the radio and declared, "Pearl Harbor has just been attacked by the Japanese! We are going to allow the individual state governors to decide for themselves on how to best manage this crisis! We will offer advice and some financial assistance, but this has to be managed by local governors, based on their state's needs!" War is war, be it traditional combat, cyber-attack or bio-warfare. When it threatens the entire nation, you don't leave it up to individual governors to decide the fate of our country.

The decision to ban teams from traveling outside of the state, or even their local region to play friendlies, should have been made 9 months ago. If not by the POTUS or state governors, then the governing bodies of those individual sports leagues. PGF, USA and Triple Crown should have issued a directive that "ANY team caught traveling out of state to play in an organized friendly during the middle of a global pandemic, will be banned from playing in ANY of their events for the next TWO years, period." That would have stopped a whole bunch of the nonsense that prolonged and worsened this pandemic for CA.

All American citizens made sacrifices during WWII, because they were genuine patriots that cared about the welfare of our nation. Our problem is that almost half of our population today has no sense of national patriotism or pride. It's all about them, and screw everyone else. They believe that wearing a mask is a slippery slope to communism. 310,000 dead Americans in less than a year from Covid, and it was all totally preventable. Competent government matters people. For the love of our children and future generations, let's learn from our mistakes this time and start taking government seriously. Merry Christmas!

This is especially true when the Dems in the HR were so focused on it as well....oh....that's right.....they were focused on a phony impeachment proceeding and endless, useless Trump phony investigations.....oh...and when they weren't doing THAT, they were encouraging people to go to China Town to celebrate and eat in their restaurants. You are funny and have no shame...no end to what crap you'll shovel.

You're right about the WWII Patriots. The country wasn't overun by Socialists and Communists during those days. They were all more like flyover America today.

Our number of dead is favorable comparable to other countries. The armchair QBs can sit back and dole out their usual amount of crap.....but in the end they wouldn't know $hit if their mouths were full of it. Bon apetite.

Just to clarify the intent of your post, I'm going to assume you meant to say, "Bon appétit!"
