Outside the Lane

What's on your mind?

by mom414$$ » Wed Aug 31, 2022 8:28 pm

I know the lanes are not marked on most high school softball fields. But in High School softball under NFHS rules. There is a rule about stepping outside the 24 inch lane right? I can see the advantage of the pitch. Even tho the pitcher that’s doing it. It’s got to be hard on the body. I just want to make sure I’m correct. Or if I’m not. I don’t make a fool of myself. The step is so much outside you can’t miss it. Almost looks like a side jump. Just need some clarification.
Thank You

The pitcher's stride must be partially or wholly within the 24 inch width of the pitcher's plate. [NFHS 6-1-2] Few umpires call this.
A constitution of government, once changed from freedom, can never be restored. Liberty once lost is lost forever.
