Hi Coach thank you for responding,

I while back someone on e-teamz was talking about grades that you need to get into college. I think it was you. Their are different colleges throughout the United States with different standards. Do all the D1 schools stick to a certain GPA and SAT score

The short answer is "no". Each college is different. For instance, Stanford requires everyone to be admitted before they make the team. Most other colleges are just the opposite. The coach recruits you and then looks at your grades. For females your GPA must be very strong. Of course, there are exceptions.

I would advise a young lady that is wanting to be recruited to study, do well on the SAT (maybe take it more than once) and if you aren't in the top 10% of your HS class, to use a tutor. The classes that are available to prepare for the SAT are good, too.

I am from the midwest (IL) and a lot of the colleges there want you to take the ACT. When I coached at a private 2 year college we wanted athletes that had at least a 20 and even a 25. I think 35 is perfect.

Google the exact terms that you want to know. Like - SAT scores required for colleges - . Also, phone the admissions off ice and see what they say.

Thanks, Amy
