HOF Tournament shortened

Just heard that there only going to play the HOF till they have the top 8 due to the Olympic team playing there the same weekend.
Any one know how many games that will mean?

It would depend on your draw and how you do in your early games. It could be as little as two games if you have a first round bye, three for the teams that stay in the winners bracket.
We are playing in the qualifier this weekend but now it is hardly worth it unless you need the berth to Nationals.

Clovis, 3 teams?
HOF is a great place to play but I don't know if it's worth the money for 3 games and a possible berth. Air fare and hotel cost for some teams can get expensive.
From what I hear the final 8 get berths though. Those are pretty good odds.

The part that s#*@ks is that they waited so long to let teams know they were changing the format. Teams that purchased airline tickets early to save on cost will lose a chunk of money now if they decide 3 games isn't worth the trip. Not to mention it's to late to cancel rooms for the qualifier. (3 teams?) They put teams in a lose-lose situation.

Talking to a dad from Grapettes, he stated that there was only 2 teams going to Clovis hof
and since there was such a bad showing the 2 berths were going to them and Corona Angels.
A third team ended up signing up at the last minute and forced a tournament...I hear it was Nemesis 95....is this true?

I don't know. It WOULD make more sense to me for Socal teams to go to HOF considering how many of them are fighting for berths. Their odds of getting one of eight berths at HOF would probably be pretty good.

Give that tournament status to the Fresno Force Tournament.

That is a complete laughable waste of time and berths that should be earned.

That would be great to have the Fresno Force Tourney some kind of qualifier. Unless more teams sign up for So Cal State their was more teams at the FF Tourney then their will be at the state tourney. 48 12 U teams at the Force Tourney and so far only 30 teams have signed up for state. What a huge drop in numbers over the past years. The 14's are way down also.

Going to Oklahoma for 2 or 3 games is a waste of money, I love going to that stadium but playing a tourney like that with no winner is a joke. Okay you get your berth that is great, their still is a plus side.

If they are giving two berths at the HOF qualifier this weekend, then ASA should give the Sept 07 HOF Finalist the same consideration - Minors Gold 12U.
