Scoring question

This may elementary to some of you but that is why I'm asking here. Does it count towards your on-base percentage when you reach-on-error? How about a fielder's choice?

They count only as AB's. They are not counted as times that they reached base. You only count hits, walks, and HBP's.

Thanks Sam, that is kind of what I thought but wasn't sure. Damn, there goes my DD's on-base percentage.

I know the scoring rule that Sam quoted is correct. I can see the logic in a FC not counting towards OB%. Does anyone know the reasoning why reaching on an error does not count towards a batter's OB%

...because the batter would have been out had the fielder actually made the play exerting normal effort.
