What happened to 95 Glory (Flannigan)? In the HOF Qualifier they're now listed as the American Liberty Krusers....

My granddaughter has a friend who plays for Glory(Whitby) and she told me that this team left the Glory organization last week to join Texas Elite.

Glory(Whitby) is already qualified for ASA nationals.

What's up?

The '95 Glory team has decided to leave the Glory and start a new club called Kruzers. The coaches and select parents on this team have a history of fighting with other teams as well as among themselves. The Glory bosses finally called them on the carpet and gave them the "Better not happen again" speech and they decided to become a new club. This is the third or fourth club this team has been with in the past few years. They lose all name recognition and most of all college contacts for the future. I have a feeling that many of those young ladies will be back with Glory at the end of the spring season. Coaches have huge egos, parents know the best deal for little suzee.

The Whitby team is basically a rec league team these days. They have a good time and that should be good for them this year. They qualified on a technicality last year when the Glory folks petitioned ASA because of an illegal player used by the team that sent them home at HOF.

As for what is going on with Glory, the guy that started the club left and moved to Georgia. The new guy may have a different view on how things should be done. Sometimes that is good.

behindtheplate,

Do you have contacts with the Glory?

By the way, their have been rumors since last year that this team was going to change to the Kruzers. I think it almost happened. Last spring, the Kruzers disbanded and two of their players went to 95 Glory. After this, I remember constant talk of them becoming the Kruzers again.

Kruzers have been around along time and I remember my 18 year old neice playing against them. The head of this organization sent some great players off to college so don't think they have lost their contacts.

Also, why do you have to be apart of Glory to have college contacts? If I remember correctly, Dan Adkins always said that it was about the girls playing softball and not just about his Glory players. Dan helped tons of girls get to college and hopefully Kevin will continue to see things through. Don't start knocking on 12 year olds just yet.

I also find it amazing that a 12U team can make such a large impact on mature adults

Wow, you really keep up with this organization but it makes me wonder how much you really know. I have been around for a while and was able to see "the guy that started the club". Anyone in Texas around softball knows his name is Dan Adkins. Dan is a great guy and always supported his teams as well as every other softball player out there. It was a sad day when he left to go back home to Georgia and after what I have been hearing and reading, I hope that this organizatin is not falling apart.

How can you say that Glory (Whitby) is a rec team when they haven't even started their season yet?

There was alot of talk this past weekend in McKinney during the 16U round robin that Kevin, the guy that took over for Dan is basing all of his teams around only two teams. HIS 18U gold team and 16U (Naudin). I don't think this pleases alot of people here in Texas.

Is this what California does? Just asking since Naudin relocated to Texas and now things are changing

Hence the flaw in the argument.

Aren't all softball parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers/sisters mature? Or are we just different down here in Texas.
