I believe they are playing 16s this year. Real good team, though.

Regards,

lady magic a sleeper team? yuk yuk. lets see, 3rd ASA 2005 nationals (12U), top 10 in 2007 nationals (14U). Some sleeper team. many of the same kids, some very strong new additions this year. Fast kids, great bats, great pitching and coaching.

Now that Sorcerer Gold sucked up most/all of the previous 16U Sorcerer team, lady magic is the team to beat from the grapevine to the oregon border. All of the teams listed at 16U would have to play a great game to defeat them.

Where are the 16U Sunnyvale Shockers?

They went 1-1 against the Sting in the Metro's at Twin Creeks last summer. They beat Sting handily in the first meeting, and lost by 1 run to Keilani Ricketts in the defeat. (Ricketts also drove in the winning run).

This team is a year older and very well coached.

I would not count them out by any means!

I agree that Lady Magic is the favorite in the 16U. They are a combination of some 16U age eligible juniors from last years Lady Magic 18 gold team, plus a very talented 14U team that has consistently placed in the Top 10 at ASA Nationals. They have a couple of 2009 players who have verbaled to CAL (pitcher and a catcher), plus one of the top 2011 pitchers. They are definitely the favorite at 16U, and would probably qualify at Gold if they went that direction.
In 18 Gold, it is very difficult to rank the teams based on fall. No college players, rosters on many of the teams set at the 16-18 level, players missing tournaments because of conflicts, etc. I see pitching question marks on most of the teams in terms of qualifying and competing on a national level. The returning college players will impact the competitive balance among these teams in a hurry, particularly in pitching. Many of these rosters will continue to be tweaked in the coming months.

NorCal Summer top 10 programs

1.Sting-Perales Team is loaded and have one of the top 2 pitchers in the USA
2.Sorcerers-Mumma Great crop of young talent. Can they rebound from poor nationals?
3.Shockers Coaches seem to do the job.Spoilers
4.Sting-Fanno Very good players, will be competitive
5.Grapettes They can hit but have issues at pitching
6.All American Nice team put together
7.RR Gold-Regpala Always ready to go
8.Sorcerers-Pete Pete always does a great job
9.Fresno Force Depends on how many players they can keep from going to So.Cal
10.Lady Sharks-Berrera Decent team..scrappy
NR.Strike Zone After 8 straight nationals...this program has it rock bottom

If LadyMagic was a Gold Team..I would put them as a top7 team. :ugeek: :ugeek:
