Player movement at Gold!

What's on your mind?

by DBLUE » Sat May 31, 2008 8:23 am

I'm a little new to all this , but do understand some of the movement being made. I heard the Sorcerers move Gas down to Pete, the Sting is bringing back Arioto, and Kat for he summer, so they are moving 2 down the second team, and just heard this morning that the Strikkers lost their big stud to another team, so they're looking I'm sure for another horse. Why would some of these kids leave? I heard of the team the one kid is leaving for, and it boggles my mind. Do they think the grass is greener or what? Good luck to all involved, but just left here wondering , why f with a good thing?

It's hard to understand last minute changes like these after numerous tryouts have been held, and teams have been practicing together for months. Playing time issues, a personality conflict between the coach, player or parent, a parent or player thinking the grass is greener somewhere else, the coach thinking the grass is greener with another player, or a coach from another team who is good at promising the world to get the player over to the new team.
I think the player movement on the one team you mentioned is a good example of how things can change very quickly from a player's perspective. You make the "A" team and suddenly either more players are added or you are moved to the second team.

Who told you Arioto is going back to the Sting? She is playing - but not with the Sting. You can find her next week in Stockton.

Arioto playing for Sting or Sorcerers, who cares?
Sorcerers are the ones who need her most especially after they got their butts kicked this past weekend in Grapettes showcase.
Sorcerers were exposed last week by Sting and was now validated this weekend by other teams. Their team will all be replaced by college players. Please dont tell me that mumma didnt care because why would he go off on his players after the sting game. Sorcerers players and their families know this is true...DON'T LIE.
Going to be a looooooong summer

Doesn't matter how you shuffle them. They're still Nor Cal.

I would think once you make a committment at this point , you probably should stick to your committment you have made to the kids. And to the families that are letting their kids go from one team to the next, teach them a lesson in life, because daddy can't be there for them always holding their little hands. Unfortunately the kids are the ones that suffer at this point, having to gel with new teammates, and seeing their old ones go away.

Arioto playing for Sting or Sorcerers, who cares?

Response: Well, we do, at least those of us that follow Gold ball do. Arioto is a big pickup for whom ever gets her, she not only brings a top pitcher to any team she goes too she brings a big league bat with her as well, would be a major pick up for either team.

Sorcerers are the ones who need her most especially after they got their butts kicked this past weekend in Grapettes showcase.

Response: I agree, Sorcerer needs her that is for sure but not because they lost some back yard exposure games, they need her to help out pitching, and who couldnt use her bat.

Sorcerers were exposed last week by Sting and was now validated this weekend by other teams.

Response: Exposed? How so? What did they Sting do? They hit the ball, Sorcerer didn’t, Sorcerer lost, same thing happened this weekend from what I seen. And as long as Mumma bats so many kids they will continue to struggle to score, but who cares, these are exposure games.

Their team will all be replaced by college players. Please don’t tell me that mumma didn’t care because why would he go off on his players after the sting game.

Response: Oh I'm quite sure he cared nobody likes to lose, but all his players replaced by college players, sure about that? Who in the world could he get to replace all of them? I see one or two pickups at the most, the girls you see out there will be the ones that will be playing down in Lancaster.

Sorcerers players and their families know this is true...DON'T LIE.
Going to be a looooooong summer

Response: I talked to quite a few Sorcerer parents this weekend and while they did not like losing nobody seemed worried in the least, what I was told is that they will be fine, and they are quite sure that everyone involved will have to contend with them when qualifying starts.

Arioto to the sorcerers!! Bad news for the sting. Who makes the next move? A few teams in need of that one or two big players to help them out. Love the summer, it's like a fantasy league! Hmmm, I'll take arioto with the first pick!
