Logically speaking, your observation is implicit in the maxim. Hence, "a mind" is posited, rather than "a lack of mind" or "the absence of mind." Personally I'm far more afraid of idiots using their brains than smart people wasting theirs--which may sort of be what you're getting at. :mrgreen:
