Congratulations to the Sorcerer organization for a great week in Boulder.

Most impressive to me was Sorcerer-Phil coming from behind all day Sunday to win it against some very good competition, I believe every team they played had qualified for nationals except for the Angels and I expect for them to get it done in Washington, that showed me allot. It was very valuable experience for that young team. Not sure that translates to success at Nationals but it should surely help that squad compete.

Also, the game Saturday night that Sorcerer-Phil played against the Arizona Hot Shots was a big league GOLD level game, wow that was a great game.

It was also my first look at the Hot Shots young pitcher (2010) and she is flat legit! She has the most velocity I have seen at the Gold level in quite some time. I have a hard time with "hype" but there is no "hype" with this kid, she throws 68-70mph+, legitimately!

Good job by the sorcerers to win the boulder showcase. I understand a lot of teams brought all their unsigned girls and are not the same rosters that you see in qualifiers.
Sorcerers do not have the luxury because most of their team is signed so they bring everyone except Arioto. Good job to mumma.
DHB, I cant understand why mumma would just stick to his 9 or 10 players and not promote his unsigned players in the biggest recruiting event of the year?
One parent told me that one unsigned player had 1AB all week long.
I promise you one thing, Mumma will get the maximum 3 pick up players allowed for Gold nationals.

Havent you seen Fowler or Ricketts throw?
You being in Nor Cal should know how Ricketts throws..theres a big difference between Escabedo and Ricketts...Ricketts would of never allowed 5 runs to the sorcerers or even 5 hits and her ball is not flat like the hotshots stud.
Sorcerer players should tell you how legit Ricketts is since she struck most of them out

Alot of good games in Aurora. Firecrackers looked really good.

I think Mumma has 19 on his roster, so only 1 pickup for him.

I heard that Mumma played everyone during the 6 game Showcase. During the championship/elimination part of the tourney he played to win, using who he thought would get the job done.

Alot of good games in Aurora. Firecrackers looked really good.

I was in Aurora; Firecrackers, CA Lite, Impact Gold always look good. There are many more teams that impressed, there was good competition at a great facility. RR Gold, Salinas Wildcat, Grapettes all did Nor Cal proud.

theres a big difference between Escabedo and Ricketts
Yes, there is, for one they are in different recruiting class. Ricketts has more movement now but, Escobedo still has time to develop.

Good job by the sorcerers to win the boulder showcase. I understand a lot of teams brought all their unsigned girls and are not the same rosters that you see in qualifiers.

Response: There was actually allot of clubs there with their college kids, especially the out of state clubs. But the So Cal power houses where not there with their college girls for the most part, but most did have their signed seniors..etc

Sorcerers do not have the luxury because most of their team is signed so they bring everyone except Arioto. Good job to mumma.

Response: Now I did not see every game Sorcerer played so I can not speak too if he got all his unsigned kids enough looks or not. I can tell you that in the tournament play when I seen them he had his 9 starters going, that is true. Now his starters are almost all spoken for but hey it was tournament play and he was playing to win apparently.

One parent told me that one unsigned player had 1AB all week long.

Response: If that is the case that is unfortunate, I can only guess that Mumma knows what he is doing as it pertains to that kid. He has been getting kids recruited for a long time so I can only assume he is doing what he has to do to get that kid recruited, but again I dont really know.

I promise you one thing, Mumma will get the maximum 3 pick up players allowed for Gold nationals.

Response: Just as I told you he would not pick up a gang of college players he will not pick up any players for nationals, shoot he already has a small army, there is no need to pick any more players he has plenty.

Havent you seen Fowler or Ricketts throw?

Response: Sure have seen Ricketts throw, seen her throw allot and this kid has just as much velocity as Ricketts if not more in my opinion, the kid was bringing it that night. Ricketts is a little more polished right now, but give this kid time, she will be good, real good, once she learns how to really pitch and set hitters up, which I'm sure the Hotshots are working on teaching her.

You being in Nor Cal should know how Ricketts throws..theres a big difference between Escabedo and Ricketts...Ricketts would of never allowed 5 runs to the sorcerers or even 5 hits and her ball is not flat like the hotshots stud.

Response: I dont know about that, I would love to see that Sorcerer line up bat agaisnt Ricketts for a full game, I have said that from the beginning and I'm still saying it. Sorcerer can hit, and through the middle of that order they have some flat out legit bats in there. Now I'm not saying Ricketts could not shut them down, because we all know that she is good enough to shut anyone down, but I would not sell that batting line up that Sorcerer has short by saying there is just no way they could get 5 hits or 5 runs off her, that is a bit strong, and I dont agree, they most certainly could, they have just as good a chance to hit her as she has to shut them down as all players involved are really tremendous top notch athletes that you will hear from at the next level. But let me tell you that the Hotshots girl pitched great, and lost on a pass ball, now she made a couple of mistakes, but it was not like Sorcerer ripped her apart, they didnt just have a bunch of hits, but what they did have was clutch and they made them count.

Sorcerer players should tell you how legit Ricketts is since she struck most of them out

Response: I dont think you would have a problem getting the Sorcerer hitters to admit that Ricketts is legit, we all know that she is, but so is that Hotshots girl, she is just as legit. Ricketts only went through their order once where as the Hotshots kid had to face them 3 to 4 times in a real game, not in some scrimmage type thing where 19 kids are hitting. Dont get it wrong the Hotshots kid had a fair amount of strikeouts herself and she dueled Jess Moore to the hilt. My point was that she did a good job, and it was a great game, both teams slugged it out and had equal chances to put the game away but both pitchers clutched up when they had too and got some key outs, Jess Moore was outstanding and will be a special one at the next level as well. Sorcerer was fortunate to get that game, they where just able to get one more break than Hotshots, but the point is that the Hotshots young pitcher is legit, just as legit as any pitcher in the country, period.

Alot of good games in Aurora. Firecrackers looked really good.

Response: Firecrackers are a great team, with great coaching, well be there in the end.

Am I the only one that notices how loud Nor Cal is this year?

Act like you've been there before Nor Cal.

No disrespect meant on my part, Firecrackers turned in a heck of a performance and are the returning national champs with a heck of a chance to do it again.

Just thought I would mentioned the Hotshots game on the back end of the congratulatory message about the Sorcerer because I happen to catch that game and it was a good one!

What you wrote about Escobedo was classy. However, the response by the Sting parent badmouthing her to prop up Ricketts was nauseating.

great job to the 16u Firecrackers. They played great all weekend. The final winners bracket game against the EC Cobras was a great game to watch. With both teams playing D and making great plays to keep the runners off the base. In the 6th Firecrackers hit a HR and take the win 1-0. EC Cobras came back to face Firecrackers after a walkoff HR in the 7th against the Blazers. Firecrackers went on to win the championship. Nationals should be alot of fun again this year.
