So you have the final decision of where Nationals will be held. Not for any specific age group, but if you had a choice of where Nationals could be held, where would it be? Or where have you been for Nationals that was just an outstanding location...

Could be close to home, but you should also consider:
1) Weather
2) Accomodations
3) Transportation (ease of getting there from all over the country)
4) Things to do on an off day or before/after the tournament

My choice... SAN DIEGO, CA
1) Can't beat the weather...
2) Lots of hotels, from downtown, Hotel Circle, to La Jolla
3) Fly straight into SD or you can drive the 2 hours from the LA area (LAX, Long Beach, Orange County, even Burbank and Ontario)
4) Sea World, Wild Animal Park, various colleges, beaches, beaches... Did I mention the beaches?

san diego probably doesnt give a two licks about softball, any more than most other CA cities.. so they don't bid on it, or the bid is easily beaten by some crap hole city in the south.

So get your city to step it up. then maybe we dont have to go to some nightmare of a place.

ASA got it right this year in holding the "B" state tournament in Rancho Bernardo (San Diego). They are also holding opening ceremonies at Qualcomm Stadium in conjunction with the Cal State games. What a thrill for these young players. Good luck to all teams playing this weekend in Rancho Bernardo!

San Diego is easy to get to for who???? I love San Diego, but it is NOT easy or cheap for teams other than west coast teams when it comes to travel.

I live in OKC, so I vote for the HOF stadium...

Pros: Centrally located, great facilities, great support, growing city with a lot of hotels.
Cons: Not tons to do on days off, however there are some beautiful lakes, a water park, an amusement park...THE WEATHER

Definitely get my vote. Central to the country - good airport - drivable by most - and Oklahoma (hard to say these words as a Texan) has a lot going for it - mostly its proximity to Texas (that helped).

Id like to see Salt Lake or Denver step up. They both have proven track records of handling mass amounts of teams.

This also would be an excellent opportunity for Las Vegas, IMO. I know, its a shot but I get the feeling teams from back east wont resist traveling west for softball throwing in Vegas for the adults. Tons of accomadations. ASA has a good reputation there with:
