Pickup Players

What's on your mind?

by softballfever » Sat Jul 12, 2008 4:46 pm

I have some questions about pickup players for Western Nationals. Asa National Code 503 basically states you can pick-up 3 players. However it also states pick-up players may come from teams within the region that are no longer eligible for championship play. 1)Is Western Nationals considered championship play? 2)If so, if my daughter played at states in Hemet for a team that has decided not to go to Western Nationals, does that mean if her team is still eligible to play is she not allowed to be picked up by another team to play in Phoenix? Or does that just pertain to Nationals in Alabama. 3)Also if she has played up all year in Asa with a 12 under team, is she allowed to play 10 under if she is still actually 10 under or does she have to play with the 12 under teams.

I need clarification I keep getting different answers from different people so I want to actually know what the rules are before I commit to anything.

Ah yes, thanks Sam. Didn't think about telling him/her about going up in age.

Lets just say that upon seeing the title of the thread, my mind was assaulted
with an avalanche of possibilities for TNL references. But alas, too sophomoric and
obvious even for me.

I thought this thread was referring to the 14U nationals in Midland, Texas, since pickups is all they drive there. You reckon "Pickup Girls" is the name of a country song yet.
