PYLGSA Fury 10U B State Champs

What's on your mind?

by Coachyof5 » Mon Jul 14, 2008 8:30 am

Congrats to Placentia-Yorba Linda's 10U All-star team Fury for winning the ASA State Championships this past weekend. Playing from the lower bracket Fury won 6 games in a row to take the title, playing one pitch, playing one inning, and one game at a time. Remember girls, offense wins games, DEFENSE wins championships! On to Las Vegas for Nationals!

Must be the lack of rain / weather interfering with practices? Thanks for the kudos. I think a big part of it is being a bigger league with more kids to draw from in our cities. (no need to go prospecting outside our zip codes as well!)Thanks again

>> Good job to PYL. How the heck do you guys continue to field such strong teams? Is there something in the water out there? <<

We played their big sisters 5 years ago and I agree, Spaz, we need to hold some Congressional Hearings on the water they drink - bound to have something special in it, that promotese strong parental support, strong coaching, strong community involved, non selfish parents, and oh yeah, check Bonita Valley, that Cucamonga area too.

I've been wondering the same thing about Corona! ;)
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

I was just looking at the Las Vegas site today and could see no southern cal teams listed as having entered - no wonder, if your qualifiers were just this weekend. We (Belmont Blast) qualified from Norcals 3 weeks ago in 3rd place. Congratulations! It's going to be fun - we just have to convince the girls that 111 degrees is not really that hot :-)

See you there!

Thatguy, look us up when you get there and I'll buy the first beer! My older DD played NSA's there in 2002 in Henderson (south vegas, as opposed to north west this year. ). We played on arty turf that and it was hot enough to blister your feet in the coaches boxes if you didn't keep your feet moving! One other detail a TB coach I know recently played at the complex and said it's great but VERY little shade, so bring your easy ups! Best of luck to all teams, unless you run into Fury of course! ;)
