12U Minors Gold 95 Going to Nationals for free

What's on your mind?

by NumeroUno » Mon Jul 14, 2008 10:47 am

The 12U Minors Gold 95 team worked very hard this year fundraising, hosting tournaments and friendlies and now they will get their reward.

Every player on the team earned enough money to get a free plane ticket paid by the team to the ASA Nationals.

They also earned one free plane ticket for one parent.

Pretty good don't you think?

Here is the big one, every player on the team will have their hotel paid for 10 nights.

What were some of the fundraising events they did, and which one was the most successful?

They hosted a lot of 10 and 12 team friendlies and hosted a couple big tournaments. The parents all worked very hard, worked together, and had a lot of fun.

#1...That's terrific! I'm sure there are kids, or even teams that will miss out on this incredible opportunity due to our country's economical woes. It's great to hear that the kids and the families of MG will be able to focus on the game and not on how they will be able to afford such a trip. Congrats and you are welcome...I know we contributed. ;)

Congratulations! Very inspiring and motivating to know it CAN be done. Sounds like the key is to start early and never let up. Way to go!

Congratulations to Minor Gold!!!

I was impressed at seeing all the girls and their parents working hard, pitching in and doing what needed to be done to 'git 'er done!

They certainly know, understand and emulate the definition of teamwork!

It's a Minor's Gold tradition. Started in 2002 with Rick Hopkins team. Also that year was the first that the Minor's Gold Organization started hosting the So. Cal State Qualifier. That was a great year also because we won the 10 & 12 under ASA Nationals that year. While my daughter has moved on to college it's glad to see that the MG tradition is still going strong. :D
