Good job Norcal ASA 12U Fairfield regionals

What's on your mind?

by ice_67 » Mon Jul 14, 2008 4:46 pm

Still trying to recover form the 8 hour drive home last night. But I wanted to say that the crews at the 12U ASA Norcal Regionals up in Fairfield did a great job. Field crews preped fields between all games, ASA officials were courteous and informative, Umpires in our games did a good job(consistent, decisive and not afraid to confer with each other). Even got info of where to eat and where not to eat.

#1, they said they would call the teams this Monday morning and inform them. I haven't heard anything yet, has anyone else heard??

NorCal ASA officials said that other regions were turning in their unused National berths and they would go to Region 14 since it is the biggest region. NorCal officials said they had to wait until other regions reported in. Last year if I am not mistaken they gave up to 9 berths out of Regionals. I think the large number was due to ASA Nationals being in California and teams out of state not wanting to come to California not knowing how they would do.

Of course, those waiting and wanting to go and find flights, and hotel rooms will be hard pressed as time goes on. 70 teams so far must limit those that get berths at this late time for hotels, etc..

Fight On!
