Its not too bad, like I just told someone else, believe about 50% of what the weather channel says. Its still blowing here - probably 30 -40 some higher gusts, I dont know how much rain, my rain gauge got knocked down earlier in the storm, my guess is around 5-6 inches, not a lot by local standards. This one has been persistent though - its lasted longer than usual. My practice field is quite wet but I was supposed to be gone anyway, my flights have been postponed each day, but I think I am getting out tomorrow (Friday). I was supposed to fly out on Wednesday. The only interesting things that have happened have been the tornados spawned by Dolly - they havent been close though they had a erroneous report of a tornado yesterday at the high school and they ran the emergency drills to get the kids into protected areas, great practice but the tornado they were talking about was 8 miles west, silly little mistake of east vs west. They cancelled school for today at our school, one of the few area year-around school districts in the area. Pitching practice in a tropical storm could be fun - except there is no place dry enough to do that. I was telling her that if we pitch with the 40 mph wind, she should hit 90 mph, she just looks at me like I'm crazy.

Thanks though.

Good luck at Nationals and I hope it subsides so you can get gone. Here in the Houston Area we are getting much needed rain off of Dolly. I was hoping Flooding wouldn't be a problem. I live very close to the coast and have been flooded twice in the past 10 years and it SUCKS... I don't wish that on anyone. I wish you guys the best of luck and stay safe on your travels. :D

My travels are work trips. I went out to the store earlier and saw some blown down fences, traffic signs, and fallen trees, one missed a house by not much, little bit more than a bad thunderstorm but not much more but the wind is still blowing - Enough Already !.

>>... how did your barbeque turn out ?<<

That is the important question and the answer is magnificent. It was chicken breasts - marinaded for two days , cut for chicken fajitas, great finger food while watching the storm outside.

Its weird, we used to live in South Florida and were on full alert for hurricanes. If a hurricane was off the coast of Africa, it was daily news and there was talk of boarding up, etc. Basically Hurricanes were high priority.

Now being in West Georgia, its not even a blip on the radar and we dont even think about it.

Hope all is well with you Donnie

Thanks, all is well here, the pool is full of leaves and pieces of branches and stuff, but thats why I have kids. Affecting Midland, it shouldnt much. It looks like the storm is going into the sierras south of the border, that should do it.

I know what you are saying about people not thinking about storms when they are away from the coast. I remember in 1970, when Hurricane Celia was blowing our house down around us, and we got my transistor radio working, trying to figure out how much longer we had, - all the radio stations in our area had been destroyed by then, but we didnt know it - and all we could pick up was a baseball game from up in Fort Worth - we were all like people are dying here and how can the rest of the world be listening to baseball. I grew up that day.

Probably not .
at the most it could drop the temp to a more pleasent 99 vs the 100+
on the other hand it would spike the humidity

let's see Midland in late July........

or

Death by Punga

niether sound like too much fun

Still wish I was going to see the show

Me too. I was going to answer the question "Will this affect Midland at all?" with "It cant make it any worse." but I have ragged Midland so much now, that if I ever go back, it will have to be in cognito.
