Teamsmith Blue Congrats on winning 10U ASA Nationals!!!!!!!

What's on your mind?

by Iron Ballls » Sun Aug 03, 2008 8:02 am

Just wanted to congratulate teamsmith Blue for winning 10U Nationals!! I heard they had to win 5 games on elimination day including 2 games against the unbeatable CA, this has to be one of best come back stories of the year. If i read the standings correct all 3 of the So Cal teams finished in the top 3. I know this board gets heat from all the Texas teams.......Please let us know how they did against he California teams. I also remember threads that our So Cal teams would not do well in Nationals unless they grouped teams together.....what happened???? Sounds like this teamsmith team just handled everything thrown at them. Great job by CA & BB also for representing and taking the Silver & Bronze.

TSB did a great job, and SoCal did finish one, two, three. We had an amazing tournament and played SoCal very tough - TPS lost 6-5 to TSB on elimination day to finish fifth, we had runners in scoring position with two outs and could not get one last hit. TSB, CA, OC Batbusters, TPS, Georgia Impact Red and Texas Glory were all evenly matched. Our two losses were one run games against OC and TSB - they made the plays we did not. Our hats are off to them.

It was a very competitive tournament. Texas RedHots and Texas Elite also pushed SoCal to one run games losing to TSB and CA by one run respectively.

TSB almost had it all taken away with a pick-off with :05 to go on the clock that would have sealed the game against TPS up 6-3, we came back and hit the cover off the ball in top of 7th but one base running blunder cost us a chance to extend the game. Very exciting game, 6-5 final.

Congrats Teamsmith Blue on your well deserved victory.

Just wanted to respond to TPS - you guys played an awesome game and we did almost open up the door at the end, Thankfully we made the plays to stop the threat. We ended up having a great day to win 5 games on elimination day to win the Championship!! Hats off to all the teams in 10U both teams we had to play from Texas as well as the Georgia state champion were very tough. It was nice however having all 3 teams from So Cal take the top 3 spots. We always have played the CA very tough and to win 2 games against them was a huge accomplishment and very well earned as they are a very good team. We also wanted to Thank the OC Batbusters as they showed great sportmanship having the whole team along with the parents showing up to support us at our Hotel after this big WIN!!!

All the girls should be very proud of what they did!!!!!!

Congrats TSB, CA, and OCBB on finishing 1-2-3 in nationals. All I saw all year on these message boards was that last year's '96 teams were better than the '97 teams and that TSB and CA had to combine to bring back the title to SoCal. Well, we didn't bring back just 1 plaque, we brought back the top 3 plaques. Good job coaches and ladies!!! We showed what SoCal can do!

TPS keep Rhonda in check!

Congrats to all the California teams! They did a great job at Nationals. No one can take that away from them. CA teams only lost to other CA teams. TPS...they have a good hitting team. I won't take anything away from them. They have the smallest girl I have ever seen in u10 (#17) that hits the ball farther than most of the big girls on any other top team.

Anyway...congrats to Teamsmith, Angels and Batbusters! You did your state proud!

Thanks for the shout out, and #17 can hit it far for a little girl. A slight clarification - only the three Socal teams lost only to other Cali teams. The other 6 Cali teams at the tournament lost to many teams from everywhere. Tribe, DoublePlay, Breeze, Sting, AASA, and Sorcerer were not on the level of SoCal or the top teams from Texas and Georgia Impact Red.

Kudos to SoCal, you have bragging rights.

TPS thanks for the clarification.

What I should have said that the TOP 3 So Cal Teams only lost to each other. AND.... that's pretty much been the story all season.

Good Luck to All in 12's

The Tribe only lost to Team Smith Blue & TPS . They finished 7th as all the other teams you mentioned finished like 15th & higher.

Isn't the key word here could of won both games. The bottom line you did not, let it go you guys did not get it done and the other teams did what they had to do to win. This sounds so sad when teams come back by saying they should of won both games........did you have that talk with the coaches shoulda coulda woulda!!!!!

No we dont cry. I think you are kinda sad when all you can do is bash 10u teams. Why crumb on a 10u team that finished 7th at Nationals. We are very proud of them & I thought it was a line of crap to say they got beat by many teams there, The fact is the Tribe played a total of 12 games up there & finished 9-2-1. Hats off to Team Smith Blue they deserved it. I just didnt like TPS talking smack when they were not that impressive.
