Az Outlaws did not have any illegal players on our roster, the young lady in question has been on our roster and ASA approved for several months. There was a question brought up by a local team and it was checked and verified by ASA that she was legal to play.

For the record, she had a total of 2 at bats, for the enitre tournament, one in pool play and one in the 7th inning of the 2nd championship game which was won by Mizuno Pride 13-8.

Congratulations to Mizuno Pride for a great tournament.

why would a local team even think of asking a question about her eligibility?

Here's the skinny on what happened.

Someone from the Outlaws mentioned that they were not happy with the decision to bring on another player. Some research was done and the player in question was from Texas Bombers 95... According to ASA the Outlaws did place the player in question on the roster prior to states, May 30 to be exact. The player in question did not play at states and according to the Outlaws guestbook she did not even know if she was going to make the team as of June 28 almost three weeks after states.

hey girls its me xxxxxxx. i hope i make your team. im really looking forward to meeting u guys

When this was brought to the attention of ASA they said that Texas was not on the VTD and that they would have to call someone from Texas ASA and have them check paperwork to see if the player in question was registered ASA in Texas. Arizona ASA said that Texas could not find the player in question as registered in their state...Maybe no one broke any rules, but there is some reason to question the circumstances around this situation.

Apparently, she didn't know she was on the roster for months...............

is this true? can anyone from texas confirm this? and why wouldn't asa require all states to have players registered in vtd.

BS- We (Texas) are absolutely registered via VTD.

If she has ever played in any ASA sanctioned tournament, which 95% of our tournaments in North TX are, they could see her. I can't imagine a '95 from the Bombers not being registered, even though they are from further south.

i wish all of Texas is VTD. If you are a metro team you are but there is alot of Texas is STATE ASA cards.

WHY cant ASA all be the same. VTD seems to be a very easy thing to use.

Very frustrating when you want to add a player to your roster and they have a state asa card and you have to show a ASA rep there card to get travel permit approved.

STATE ASA cards are like the DARK AGES

okay, so here it goes

the arizona outlaws did not use any illigal player. the girl on their roster has been legal for months. she came to western nationals already registered as a player. she said hope to make the team because for her, western nationals were probably a kind of try out. She has been registered for asa before the end of may!!!

as for your questions why a local team would say that, its been understood now that it may not be a local coach. but as every other team, there is rivals who would love to put these problems on the opposing team. its not something people havent seen

i thought i would like to say to get the confusion to stop.

i have seen the outlaws play and they are a very good legal team
and as said, the player only got two at bats and played about one inning
not much to fuss about
