I don't know what's more amusing, Cal arrogance or the chipiness of Cal haters. When I first started lurking on these FP forums a year ago, there was much angst among the left coasters over the fact that the 10u's hadn't fared well at nationals.
Was the rest of the country catching up or was Ernie Parker's departure the begining of the end of Cal dominance? I personally suspected that at the 10u level, it was possible that the margin between 1st and 10th place could be anything from star players forgetting to bring their blankies to their hotel rooms with them, succumbing to insane adult pressure placed on them or maybe, just maybe they played at the same high level of their opponents and didn't get the key break or bounce of the ball at a key moment in an elimination game. I dunno, I've never been to nationals but isn't that what happens every year regardless of where your team is from?
Let the Californians enjoy their success this year at nationals on all levels, they pay a very high price for it.
