Marion Jones Sentenced and OJ told to report to jail

What's on your mind?

by Tucson » Fri Jan 11, 2008 1:13 pm

So, Marion Jones was sentenced to 6 mos. for lying to a grand jury and OJ has been accused of violating his probation, and is flying to Las Vegas to report to jail. (FOX news)

I always like Jones, but she lied and it looks like they are going to make an example out of her. I always thought that these white collar criminals were taking up prison space that the real bad guys should be occupying.

I wonder if The Juice ever juiced?

Has any one else noticed that the only athlete's going to jail are the African American ones. Floyd Landis actually tested positive after winning the Tour De France, yet he will never serve a minute in jail.

Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff, Lewis "Scooter" Libby, was convicted of lying and obstructing a leak investigation that reached into the highest levels of the Bush administration. Libby was pardoned immediately by President Bush with out even requesting the pardon. Presidential pardons may be handed out for other high-profile Bush administration members and insiders currently under indictment or investigation, including Vice President Dick Cheney, presidential advisor Karl Rove, Congressman Tom DeLay, Senator Bill Frist, lobbyist Jack Abramoff, former procurement officer David Safavian, and a host of others.

The hypocrisy is remarkable!

And what would Landis serve time in jail for?

Ummmm... Helloooo........ That happened at a sporting event in FRANCE!!!!!!!!!! US laws do not apply there. IF the French officials wanted him in jail he would have been there already.

No man is above the law and no man is below it; nor do we ask any man's permission when we ask him to obey it.- Theodore Roosevelt

Landis denies he did anything wrong to this day.
